MARKET BULLISH … My opinion is 8 (0 - 4 is bearish, 5 is neutral, 6 - 10 is bullish). Not a lot of change this week. Continued volatility. Market moving sideways, with a lot of bold ups and downs. Despite the recent scare on 2/25, the market remains overbought, but bullish. The market is in an ongoing rotation away from old growth, and into new growth and value.
ECONOMY and MARKETS … Employment growth for February was strong, even though some prior months were revised downward. February data for consumer confidence from 2 sources was mixed, one up and one down. Manufacturing got stronger in February and Services got weaker. Retail sales comes out mid-month. Yet this is concurrent information, or is opinion influenced by current conditions. The market is looking the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters when the vaccine changes consumer behavior.
