INVESTMENT INSIGHTS by Robert Holman, CFA CFP®
STOCK MARKET RATING (THE BIG PICTURE) …
Bullish/Bearish Rating: 7.5 = bullish (1 - 4 is bearish, 5 is neutral, 5 - 9 is bullish).
Market/Economic Condition: Normal market, except for technology
Outlook: Expecting slow improvement
I’m maintaining my market rating at 7.5, which is moderately bullish. As we see from today’s action, volatility is a continuing recurrence.
Iran-related tensions seem to be easing. Many stocks are still trading well below their highs. Gold has been moving lower, though without a clear catalyst, a rebound may be likely. Crypto remains below its recent consolidation range.
In my view, AI’s slower adoption reflects a tendency to overthink—a familiar Wall Street habit. We are clearly in the fourth technological revolution, and AI is already delivering real value to everyday users, with even greater potential for advanced users. At the very least, AI boosts productivity. The research I can conduct today with current AI tools is far more advanced than what was possible just a few years ago. The depth and complexity of the questions I can explore are remarkable, and AI is a powerful tool for finding facts that support better decision-making.
What do we do with our portfolios in this situation? Generally speaking, and depending on your comfort level with risk, pursue getting more fully invested in conservative to aggressive stocks, know your entry points, and be prepared to reverse course if things go wrong.
