INVESTMENT INSIGHTS by Robert Holman, CFA CFP®
STOCK MARKET RATING (THE BIG PICTURE) …
· Bullish/Bearish Rating: 7.5 = bullish (1 - 4 is bearish, 5 is neutral, 6 - 9 is bullish).
· Market/Economic Condition: Normal market, except for technology
· Outlook: Expecting steady improvement
I’m maintaining my market rating at 7.5, which is moderately bullish. Earnings have been good so far and today kicks-off a week of tech earnings releases, including Tesla, Alphabet, IBM, TI and Intel.
Nightly bombings of Iranian facilities have continued for 10 successive days. Iran is attacking U.S. facilities inside neighboring countries to try to inflict harm on the US and to draw those countries into the conflict. With US protection, oil is moving through the Strait of Hormuz. Crypto and Gold continue to trade at bargain prices compared to start-of-year, revealing that there is no real fear in the markets over this conflict.
What do we do with our portfolios in this situation? Generally speaking, and depending on your comfort level with risk, pursue getting more fully invested in conservative, well-known stocks, know your entry points, and be prepared to reverse course if things go wrong.
