EQUITY MARKET RATING … 6 (0-4 bearish, 5 neutral, 6-10 bullish). The markets are just too erratic to be more bullish than that.
EQUITY MARKET and ECONOMY … I’ve expected this week or next to be an inflection point, with the market a) reversing it’s selloff in some growth sectors and b) moving in a slow uptrend going forward.
Yet at the same time you could make a case for a bear market grinding downward slowly over time as tapering progresses and interest rates rise.
Also, January could be a very good month for those same certain growth stocks, those that have sold off by 20-30% or more, as more and more investors pass the 31-day wash sales hurdle.
What a conundrum.
You got to laugh department … I was playing a board game with Karen, my wife, and our 3 grand kids. We decided to up the stakes. The winner was given the right to choose one of the losers to either a) clean the Den/Livingroom or b) take a dunk (head underwater) in the swimming pool. Well, Karen won and guess who she chose to take the dunk? Well, it wasn’t so bad, but I wouldn’t want to do it again.
