EQUITY MARKET RATING … 3.0 (0-4 bearish, 5.0 neutral, 6-10 bullish) … With Russia invading Ukraine, oil prices surging, inflation still persistent, and money flowing into safe havens, there is no reason not to maintain our 3.0 bearish rating.
EQUITY MARKET and the ECONOMY … After yesterday’s big selloff, it’s not surprising to see a price rebound – although it wasn’t guaranteed, we could have had another down day. But it’s nice to see there is an element of confidence out there among some investors. I’m concerned the market is going to turn increasingly negative as the average consumer is impacted by inflation, oil prices, and the resultant effect --- lower net income, which slows the economy and reduces corporate earnings growth.
