STOCK MARKET RATING (THE BIG PICTURE) … 6.5 (1-4 bearish, 5 neutral, 6-9 bullish). We have entered a bullish phase with today’s reduction in the CPI growth rate.
Markets are having a big day today. The major indices were almost 2% as of today’s writing.
Bitcoin and Ethereum continue to make new highs for the last 12-month period. Gold sold off for 6 or 7 days but is recovering now. The QQQs gapped up for the second time in November, today’s move was impressive.
The Fed’s interest rate policy may be in the process of becoming secondary to the performance of the economy. The bond market is rallying as they believe the interest rate increases by the Fed are over. However, we are not “off to the races”. Upcoming economic news may be disappointing to the market.
Unemployment is up, CPI is down, average hourly earnings are moving down, and consumer sentiment and consumer confidence are moving down.
We have recently added positions that are doing well in this environment, are virtually fully invested in our more aggressive accounts and our moderate risk accounts, with one exception, are 80% invested or more.
