12:00 TUESDAY – Bi-Weekly Market Report #241 – 7/09/24

by Robert Holman | www.DefensiveAdvisor.com

STOCK MARKET RATING (THE BIG PICTURE) … 6.0 (1-4 bearish, 5 neutral, 6-9 bullish). I’m still optimistic, but cautiously so.  With a few exceptions, the market continues it’s steady sideways-and-up trend (strong upside exceptions are primarily in the fabulous 7 and the AI-related stocks).  The S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100 indices are performing better than the DJIA.

I’m using a scoring system to make picks from my list of monitored stocks in the hopes that consensus opinions of future prospects, institutional buying, price momentum, and value assessment will drive those stocks forward.  We will know how well that scoring system works in a few months.

If it’s in the portfolio now, and has good gains, I’m holding on for the slow climb upward (a climb that results from a lot of daily up-and-down activity).  I’ll add back to trimmed positions if the opportunity presents itself.
