12:00 TUESDAY – Bi-Weekly Market Report #246 – 9/17/24
by Robert Holman, CFA CFP | www.DefensiveAdvisor.com
STOCK MARKET RATING (THE BIG PICTURE) … 5.0 (1 - 4 is bearish, 5 is neutral, 6 - 9 is bullish). It is almost certain that the Fed will cut interest rates tomorrow. Since August 5th (a Monday in which the market declined 1034 points due to low job growth) overall the market has performed strongly as the market has been anticipating the rate cuts.
My outlook is cautious at 5.0, yet I am nearly fully invested. In my view, the big picture is still neutral, but I believe volatility gets better once rate cuts begin. The elections are still the big unknown. I stand ready to make portfolio changes should that not be the case. Staying vigilant in these uncertain times is paramount.
